The 2017-18 Girls Represent Campaign provided a career aspirations/high school club fair and female professional speaker events through in-school talks and a TED talk night in Camas schools.

Speaker Series - We invited local female professionals to deliver informative and inspiring talks in the CHS library during lunch.

Yokko Okamura, First-ever female Japanese commercial pilot
Whitney Henion, Assistant Project Manager at an architectural firm
Tanya Stewart, Senior Medical Director at United Healthcare

TED Talk Night - In December 2017, five professionals spoke about their experience in traditionally male-dominated fields to about 120 middle and high school students and their families.

Allison Coffin, a neuroscience professor at WSU-V
Leah Hinkle, a former Team USA tackle football player
Dorothy Sosnowski, a renewable energy executive
State Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas
Wendi O’Neill, a cybersecurity manager
In May 2018, we hosted a Women's Empowerment Panel attended by about 100 high school students - a panel-style discussion on issues relating to intersectional feminism.
Panelists included:
Aaliyah Joseph, a senior at De La Salle North Catholic High School in Portland, and local student activist from CENTER PDX, a Portland-based coalition of educational and nonprofit organizations committed to social justice issues
Ameya Okamoto, a senior at Catlin Gabel School, additional member of CENTER PDX, local artist and activist
Samantha Baltzersen, FBI agent and former United States Army military intelligence officer
Heidi Keith, Camas High art teacher and tattoo artist
Molly Walter, freelance marketing consultant and Sseko Company fellow, who uses an ethical fashion business model to help educate and empower women in east Africa
Dr. Charlene Williams, Camas School District Assistant Superintendent
